My DVR spontaneously rebooted at the end of December. When it came backup, most of my December recordings were no longer on my recorded shows
list, but quite a few November recordings that I had deleted were back.
I believe I'm running the Passport software.
I called Time Warner and they sent a signal which did nothing. The rep
then told me that a technician would have to take a look at it and that
they can often restore the list. However, the technician arrived with a
new DVR and had no idea of what the problem was. When he understood, he
said there was nothing he could do, that the list was maintained on a
Time Warner server. That TW has been installing new software and they
are losing lots of people's recorded show lists.

I called Time Warner again and a rep offered to send another signal to
my DVR. But, as he would not or could not tell me if the program list
is maintained on one of their servers or in my DVR's hard drive, I
declined his offer on the chance that the signal might erase more
programs I haven't seen yet. Not surprisingly, he also would not pass
me along to a higher level of tech support.
Can someone tell me where the recorded show list is maintained, if
another try at TW sending me a signal is worth doing or if it can erase
more shows, and if there's anything I or TW can do to get my December
shows back.
